Our shared server packages are fully managed service offerings. These are designed so that customers can focus on their web content, their applications, and on their own customers without being concerned with managing the infrastructure (the hardware, operating system, backups, data center, network, and non-core applications) day-to-day. For demanding web sites and applications, we also offer Dedicated Managed Servers.

All shared hosting services include:

• 24x7 hardware fault monitoring, response, repair, and on-site hardware spare
• 24x7 monitoring, response, and repair of the operating system and supported applications including pro-active security patches, bug fixes, etc.
• Redundant monitoring -- multiple applications, different servers in different network segments
• Hosting in Digital West's own data center including backup power (UPS and generator with automatic power transfer), redundant data center cooling, electronic surveillance, biometric access security, and multiple carrier entrance facilities
• Every server contains its own mirrored/RAID-protected storage for customer data
• 100Mb/FastE, or 1000Mb/GigE switched Ethernet connections on a dedicated VLAN
• Performance optimized, multi-homed and redundant Internet connectivity. Multiple upstream transit backbones, direct peering to AOL, MSN, Yahoo, Google (and more!) with Optimized BGP routing.
• Firewall in front of all Internet facing servers
• Multi-layer backup system to protect data from hardware component failure, operating system crash, and administrative error. Backups are performed on an isolated LAN to maintain data integrity and do not consume customer bandwidth.
• Month-to-month contracts -- giving you the flexibility to modify your services if your needs change and ensures you stay a Digital West customer because you want to be one -- not because you're forced to be.
• Choice of operating systems: GNU/Linux (Apache) or Microsoft Windows 2003 (IIS 6)
• Access to senior Digital West Networks technical staff for assistance with migrations from other hosting environments, technical feedback and assistance with your hosting architecture, data/domain/DNS transfer, etc.

Some hosting situations require additional services. No problem! If you need a MySQL database, MS SQL Server 2005 database, extra mailboxes or other features not included in a standard plan, see the Extras and Add-Ons.
